There’s a French word, frisson, that means “aesthetic chills.” It describes a spontaneous, intense emotional and physiological reaction to a powerful stimulus. It’s a fleeting, but intense feeling that connects us more deeply to our emotions and our environment.
If you’ve ever gotten goosebumps listening to emotive music or watching an awe-inspiring feat, you’ve experienced frisson. It’s the feeling that pierces right through you, appearing in moments that surprise, excite, and leave you suspended between heartbeats.
Life is meant to be lived with joy. Seek the moments that make your heart race and your soul sing.

I recently found a playlist made up of songs that give a frisson experience. My understanding is that it was pulled together by a neuroscientist.
